Eleanor sketch from 2014
I’m working on finishing up the final 4 pages of Chapter 2. In the meantime, here is a sketch of Eleanor I drew in 2014.
In this drawing she is in her mid to late 40’s, right around when her grandson Ace was born. I love her face in the left drawing.
My Drawing Process for Human Characters
I start with a skeleton, then add muscles/anatomy, then clothes/armor. This is a panel from Page 43, where Artor is talking to his wife Eleanor.

I have a batch of Pages 42-45 in progress, and I hope to have Page 42 up next week. These four pages will finish up the chapter. : D

At long last, Page 39! I’m pretty proud of this one. The first panel was rough to draw, mostly because it has 9 figures in it, haha.
My Summer continues to be chaotic, scheduling-wise.
I have been on several family related trips this summer, and the end result is I haven’t finished everything. I hate to say this once more, but it will be another week until the next page is posted.
In the meantime, here is a quick “Color Sketch” from the drive back home yesterday, from the most recent family event. The scenes were rushing by too fast for me to catch much detail, so I just tried to capture the colors I saw. I did drop a windmill in, though!

So the good news is that I will have 3 pages done by Monday, and I’m proud of all three. The bad news is that none of the three is done today, so it’s going to be another week without a page.
In the meantime, here is concept art for Ace from 2016. At one point I considered giving him red hair, like his Grandfather. In the end I had him and his father take more after his Grandmother.

I am currently working on Page 39, 40, and 41 all at once. As a result, I have none of them done yet, haha! But they will be done soon. Page 39 has a couple of panels that I’m pretty proud of.
Page 43 will finish up this chapter, and next chapter we’re going to Pelkern!
To show that I am still alive and kicking, I’m posting a drawing I drew from life, from the Indiana State Fair about two years ago. I realized I haven’t posted any of my non-comic drawings on this site for a couple of years now. So here is what my stuff from life looks like. : )
4 Characters as Hamsters (haha)
This week’s post comes from a silly conversation I had with my husband about a month ago. I was struggling with drawing the human figures, and thought about how much easier it is for me to draw animals. I texted my husband saying “Argh, Maybe I should have done animal characters instead of human characters. They could have been hamsters, Phil. They could have been hamsters.” So here is a silly take on my characters, as Hamsters. XD
Next week I have a family reunion, but I will be bringing my Surfacebook laptop and will hopefully get the pages done on time anyways. (fingers crossed)
