Panels 2 and 3 show early concept art. Panel 4 is from Page 3 of The Pelkern Cycle. Panel 5 is from Page 10. Edit on January 3, 2024: I switched to Squirrel-style eyes instead of Human-esque eyes on Page 5, so I went back this page and altered it to fit the rest.

Page 5. Posting this page solo, because it finished the thoughts started on Page 4.
Page 6 ended up being more complicated than I first had intended, but I like how it turned out.
I like how the Squirrel with the flu turned out in Panel 2, haha. In Panel 2 I originally had both sick days and vacation days represented. The hiking squirrels in the back made for a more balanced image, but I felt like it interrupted the flow and made the page harder to read, so… Continue reading Page 7
Page 8. In this one I played around with the colors in the background texture, because the panels didn’t feel distinct from one another.
Page 9. The start of my health hiatus. I had more exciting bleeds than the one I showed in Panel 3–I often bled copiously out of the needle prick when they took out my IV line, for example–but I decided to do the least visually bloody one, to keep it from getting too TMI.
Page 10. The tendonitis in my drawing wrist is improving with the occupational therapy. I’m also using a wrist brace while drawing, which is helping too.
